Chaîne des Rôtisseurs

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs

In this post I would like to introduce the oldest gastronomic society worldwide, which is not yet all that well known in Romania – the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs!

With over 25,000 members, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an International Association of Gastronomy now established in over 70 countries bringing together enthusiasts who share the same values of quality, fine dining, the encouragement of the culinary arts and the pleasures of the table. The distinctive character of our association is to bring together amateurs and professionals, from all over the world, whether they are hoteliers, restaurateurs, executive chefs or sommeliers, in the appreciation of fine cuisine.

In Romania the Bailliage National de Roumanie of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs was set up as a national organization in 2009 by Octavian Fagaras (Bailli Delegue) and Friedrich Niemann (former GM at the Athena Hilton Bucharest, now GM at the Hilton Frankfurt). Since then it has been hosting high level events in the countries finest restaurants and archived a unique position as opinion leader on matters of fine dining and wines in Romania.

Both Ulrike Schäfer and Jonas Schäfer are members of the Bailliage National de Roumanie of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and at the Valea Verde we have hosted several beautiful dinners for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in 2011 and 2012. In September 2013 we also catered an amazing event at the beautiful Count Mikes estate in Zabola. Since 2013 I am also a national board member of the Romanian Bailliage representing the professional members of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs as Conseiller Culinaire. Here you can find some more information on the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and below some more pictures:

Please note: We are always delighted to welcome Confrères et Dames de la Chaîne at the Valea Verde – please contact us for special offers!
