With the start of the summer being officially declared on June 21st, we decided to host a weekend celebrating the incredibly diverse and beautiful Transylvanian produce this time of the year brings to us! We will be walking the fields and wild meadows in the rolling hills around Cund collecting the freshest herbs, wild flowers and eatable plants we can find, savor some special meats of wild game and mangalita and sample some great wines from Romania.
Upon your arrival on Friday night, we will spoil you with a special cocktail created especially for the occasion and some crostinis of homemade walnut bread and a wild mushroom terrine. After this a light four course dinner will follow paired with exciting young wines ending with a special desert with wild flowers.
On Saturday we start the day with a large breakfast with warm bread and rolls and freshly made tea and fresh juices of seasonal fruits. Then we will go for a guided two hour walk in the forest and hilltops looking for the ingredients for dinner and lunch and Jonas will casually introduce all guest to the special nature as well as talk a bit about local history. As few places in Europe are possessing a bio diversity as special as our area has, a special focus will also be directed at this and the nature of this bewitching, mostly “eatable landscape”.
Back at the Valea Verde we will then have a light two course lunch with a small salad and a wild herb risotto. In the afternoon there is a chance to go on a cycling trip or a guided tour of Sighisoara or you may have a complimentary massage by Carmen, our trained specialist. In the evening we would gather at 19.30h again at the Valea Verde Restaurant for a round of cocktail and then embark on a night of again very light dishes progressing from light and cold to richer and warm with a total of nine inspiring courses served.
On Sunday morning we are offering a lavish “brunch type” buffet featuring also some smoked salmon and our infamous “Eggs Benedict” before its time to say goodbye (some time in the late morning, lunchtime, early afternoon)…
The complete package includes two nights of accommodation in shared double rooms (en-suite), two days Valea Verde Breakfast Buffet, a light four course-dinner on Friday evening, a nine-course dinner on Saturday, a guided walk in the hills, guided tour of Sighisoara, bicycle rent, 30min massage in your room, small bottle of Prosecco and fresh fruits in your room, a complimentary cocktail on Friday night and Saturday, transfer to Tirgu Mures or Sighisoara by our driver. Please note, that drinks (apart from the complimentary cocktail and the small bottle of Prosecco) are not included in the offer.
This offer is available at € 218,- per person (sharing a double room) and we could offer you a wine-pairing for both nights with a glass of wine accompanying each course at € 70,- per person.
